REVIEW: B&BW Honey Sweetheart Instant Hair Highlights- Bronze

Hi everyone!
I have a product that I am so excited to tell you about today! For about four months now, I've been wanting to either color the ends of my hair or find a temporary way to do it.

This product is the Bath & Body Works Honey Sweetheart Instant Hair Highlights in the color bronze. This is the best product I have found for achieving this look on my dark black hair. I have tried other products like hair chalk and this spray is just simply the best.

8 Beauty Essentials for College!!

Here are some things that I think are going to be essential to have in college!! Good luck to everyone and I hope you have a great year!

1) Makeup wipes!
These are going to be so convenient for late nights when you're ready to just go to sleep! It is so much easier to wipe off your makeup then taking time to wash it off.
Product Suggestion-
Left: Yes To Cucumbers Hypoallergenic Facial Towelettes- $6- These are awesome because they don't leave a oily residue on your face! The ingredients are 98% natural/ organic, too! You get 30 sheets in one pack and they smell really good!
Right: MAC Wipes (30 wipes)- $15- So this is clearly a high end option. I will say though that these do leave a little bit of an oily residue on your face. I wouldn't use this during the day to fix smudged makeup. This is best before going to sleep. I heard some people say that it also makes your skin a little better (like reducing pores).

How To Keep Skin Healthy After Swimming In The Pool!

I went swimming the other day and realized that there are a lot of things I do after I swim to maintain the health of my skin. Swimming pools are not the cleanest place and also contain a lot of chlorine which can and will seriously dry out your skin.

Perfect Layering Scent: B&BW's Japanese Cherry Blossom

I never wanted to buy the Bath & Body Works scent Japanese Cherry Blossom because I thought it just smelled like a generic perfumey smell. But I think that was because my nose thought everything in the store smelled the same after like 5 minutes in there. Lol Does that happen to anyone else? Anyways, the other day I saw a bottle of it that someone had put in the bathroom at work and I realized that it smells amazing!

I always heard that the key to making B&BW fragrance mists' scents last longer is to layer them. I always thought that if I tried to do that it would end horribly in some crazy mixture. Lol But now I have discovered that Japanese Cherry Blossom is the perfect layering scent!

It is also lovely on its own! I kinda really want to get the eau de toilette now!

Anyways, if you layer your B&BW fragrance mists, leave me some ideas because I would love to try them!

REVIEW: Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy Energizing Lotion in Orange Ginger

My dad just recently got the Energy- Orange Ginger Aromatherapy Body Lotion from Bath & Body Works for me and I was super excited to add it to my collection! I have tried the Sleep- Lavender Chamomile lotion and didn't actually like it very much. Here are some notes about this product:
  • I really love the smell of this! It may be a little strong at first for some people but when it settles down, it is pretty refreshing.
  • This is an energizing lotion but in my opinion, it didn't really make me feel more energized.
  • The formula is a little more creamy and thick than the regular signature collection lotions.
This lotion in a full sized 6.5 fl oz bottle costs $13 and a miniature 2 oz bottle costs $5.

Let me know if you have tried this lotion and what you thought about it or if you have tried the other Aromatherapy products!

REVIEW: Bath & Body Works' New Scent Country Chic + COUPON GIVEAWAY!

I was so excited to spend my Bath & Body Works gift card yesterday and while I was at the store, I decided to try their new scent called Country Chic! I absolutely love it and recommend it to all of you! When the lady saw me try it in the store she told me that it was basically a light Spring scent. On the website, Country Chic is described as being "an effortlessly sexy blend of sparkling lemon, bright wildflowers, and spring woods inspired by the fresh air and natural beauty of America's countryside." I think this is a pretty accurate description; the smell does remind me a lot of the country side because I feel like there is a lot of honey suckle in it. It changes a lot when it is on your skin though and I think you can tell what its changing notes are. Initially it smells like it has a bit of a citrus to it but then it settles to a calmer woodsier scent. May I also add that I think the packaging of the products is adorable!!

I almost think that this scent is very similar to the original Juicy Couture Eau de Parfum so yay for a cheap dupe! The Juicy Couture perfume in a 1.7 oz bottle costs $64.19 whereas the Bath & Body Works 8 fl oz Fragrance Mist costs $12. You would have to spray a lot of the Bath & Body Works fragrance mist to make it as strong as the Juicy Couture perfume though because the scent is light after a while and fades a bit.
All in all, I love this scent and truly do think it is perfect for Spring! I kind of want to go back and buy the Shea Cashmere Hand Cream in this scent when it comes out! Country Chic is still relatively new so for a limited short time, the 2 oz body lotion costs $1 and the 3 fl oz body mist costs $2! I have absolutely no idea when this offer ends so go get it now! lol

Coupon Giveaway!!
Okay so as of right now, I own two of the same Bath & Body Works coupons so I want to give one away to one of my lovely followers!! This contest will end April 8th! With this coupon, you get one free signature collection item of your choice (up to $12 value) from Bath & Body Works with any purchase of $10 or more! The coupon is valid for use from April 15th to May 8th!  This is a great way to build up your collection of full-sized products from Bath & Body Works that will last you a really long time! All you have to do to enter this contest is be a follower of my blog and leave a comment telling me what your favorite Bath & Body Works scent is or what your favorite Spring scent is! You must reside in either the US or Canada though (sorry)! I will use random.org to choose a winner! Best of luck to all of you!

COMPARISON: Bliss Lemon+Sage Body Butter VS. BBW Lemon Vanilla Body Lotion

 VS.

Summer is coming and lemon is a perfect scent for the season! I was given the Bliss Lemon+Sage Body Butter by my dad and I purchased the Lemon Vanilla Body Lotion myself a few months ago. You might be wondering why I'm comparing a body butter with a body lotion but it is because these two products have relatively the same texture. You can purchase the Bliss product from Sephora and the Lemon Vanilla product from Bath & Body Works! Alright, here is the comparison!

Why the Bliss Lemon+Sage Body Butter is better than the BBW Lemon Vanilla Body Lotion:
  • It makes skin smoother than the BBW lotion does.
  • Easy to use squeeze tube
  • Is absorbed by skin faster
  • Is targeted and suitable for both men and women. (The Lemon Vanilla Body Lotion is more suitable for women.)

Why the BBW Lemon Vanilla Body Lotion is better than the Bliss Lemon+Sage Body Butter:
  • Cheaper! (An 8 oz bottle costs $10.50 whereas a 6.7 oz bottle of the Bliss product costs $28!)
  • Leaves more of a glow on skin
  • Smells better! Lemon Vanilla is sweet smelling whereas the Bliss body butter smells almost like Eucalyptus.
  • Better looking packaging

Personally, I like the Lemon Vanilla Body Lotion more solely because it smells better. lol However, if you are okay with a more herb-y smell then I think the Bliss product is better because it more effective on the skin. Both products do come in smaller sizes that are a bit more affordable. The Lemon Vanilla Body Lotion comes in a 3 fl oz bottle that costs $5; the Bliss Body Butter comes in a 1.7 oz tube for $6 (again the BBW product gives you more for your money.) But in the end, it is up to you to decide which is more suitable for your needs.

I hope you found this post helpful! Let me know if there is anything you would like me to compare next!

10 Spring Beauty Essentials!

Here is the post about Spring beauty necessities that I promised! These are not all products that I have tried but instead are things that I either have or have heard great things about! These will all hopefully be items that brighten your beautiful Spring day! (In the descriptions, first I listed the name of the product, then the price, then the store where you can find it!)

1) OPI in Coney Island Cotton Candy- $8- ULTA Stores- Pastel colors are always in for Spring and this pink is pretty and soft! It will go along with almost any outfit as well.
2) Milani Eye Tech Liquid Eyeliner- $7- Drugstore- These are perfect for hotter weather because they can't smear or sweat off your face! This has a felt tip so there would be easy and precise application!
3) Essie Mint Candy Apple Nail Polish- $3- ULTA Stores- Mint is another amazing pastel color and one that I find to be truly gorgeous. I love how much it stands out when you apply it on your nails!
4) Bath & Body Works Tropical Shower Gels in Fiji Passionfruit & Bali Mango- $10.50- Bath & Body Works- These smell AMAZINGGG. They truly make me think of the beach and of tropical fruits! There is also another tropical scent in Hawaii Coconut but I personally am not a huge fan of coconut scents.
5) Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil- $18- Sephora- I was told from a follower that these smear initially, but once they totally dry they stay put a bit better. For me, smearing eyeliner is my biggest issue and for hotter weather especially, I do not want eyeliner smudging down my face. lol
6) Bath & Body Works Tropical Fragrance Mists in Bali Mango and Fiji Passionfruit- $12- Bath and Body Works- These don't last quite as long as a perfume; nonetheless, they are smell great and certainly are refreshing!
7) ELF Conditioning Lip Balm SPF 15 in Mellow Melon- $3- Target- Protect your lips from the sun while moisturizing them! A lip balm with SPF is extremely important since you will be spending more time outside. This color is also a beautiful mix between hot pink and coral! The case is fairly large but that will make it easier to find in your beach tote bag! :)
8) Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain in Passion- $7- Drugstore- Another product that won't melt off your face! Lipstains are perfect for the Spring because they will stay on all day! This one is awesome because it is double sided and comes with a lip balm so the stain won't dry out your lips like other brands do. Passion is a gorgeous pink color that will stand out when you're in the sun!
9) Revlon Nail Polish in Sunshine Sparkle- $5- Drugstore- Usually I think yellow nail polishes look ugly and remind me of pee (haha) but a suttle yellow with a lighter tone of white in it is a gorgeous pastel color for Spring! This really reminds me of Easter too!
10) OPI Nail Polish in Do You Lilac It?- $8- ULTA Stores- Another pastel color.. yes.. I know I'm obsessed. Purples are perfect year round and a soft one like this is good for Spring! :)

Let me know what your Spring Beauty Essentials are and whether or not you have tried the products mentioned in this post before!! Happy Spring!

COMPARISON: Bath&Body Works Scentbug VS. Candles

OR

I have recently fallen in love with candles and after remembering that I owned a Scentbug, I was trying to think of reasons why I would have both things since they are both equally capable of producing a fragrance. Here is what I came up with.

Why a Scentbug is better than a candle:
  • It comes in a large variety of colors and prints. They even have cute Christmas or Halloween themed ones.
  • You can change the fragrance as many times as you want (you are not stuck with one scent like you would be with a candle.)
  • Completely safe (there is no way you could burn down your house. lol). It would be perfect for a dorm if you were to leave for class but wanted to come back with a great smelling room!

Why a candle is better than a Scentbug:
  • Candles are silent unlike the Scentbug which makes a little bit of noise when it's on because of the fan inside.
  • It does not require oil pads and fragrance oils like the Scentbug. (Fragrance oils can be quite expensive too because each one retails for $7 and it only has .33 fl oz in it!) [In case you don't know what it looks like, it is shown to the right.]
  • Adds light to the room.
  • Lasts a long time. (Unlike the Scentbug because if you have it constantly on, then you would have to replace the batteries about every 3 days.)
As you can see there are plenty of reasons for getting either product (or you could buy both like myself hehe).

Right now there is a sale at bathandbodyworks.com where you can get two 14.5 oz 3-wick candles for $20 or get 3 mini 1.6 oz candles for $5!

There is also a good deal for a fragrance oil: It will be $4 if you purchase it with a Scentbug which retail for $12.50.

Here are some fragrance oils and candles that I suggest if you are planning to buy a Scentbug or candle soon!

Fragrance oils:                                                               Candles:
- Homemade cookies (my favorite!)                                - Vanilla Caramel
- Island Nectar                                                                     - Homemade Cookies
- Pineapple Mango                                                              - Pink Sangria
                                                                                                 - Caribbean Salsa
                                                                                                 - Island Mojito

Let me know what you think is better between a Scentbug or candle! I would also love to hear your suggestions for scents!! :)

Bath & Body Works Haul!!!! Heck yes!!

First off I want to thank my friend Chandler for picking all this up for me since I was really busy this week and my coupon was about to expire! I love you so much girly! I was mildly satisfied with the small amount of Bath & Body Works products I had at home until my friend gave me my belated Christmas present which was a Slatkin & Co. 14.5 oz 3-wick Vanilla Caramel Candle!! Let's also keep in mind that this is mid-February. haha jk David, I love you a bunch too! I completely flipped out over the gift and went crazy for the rest of the day with this candle. In Spanish class, I sat with the candle without the lid so that I could smell it and while driving on the way home I sat with the candle in my lap. hahahaha. Obsessed? Yes. So now I have gone completely ballistic for more Bath & Body Works products and was finally able to get some more! I was so excited today when I picked this up at school that I was super happy and talking extremely fast to the point that my friends sometimes couldn't understand me. haha One of my friends even asked if I was feeling ok. lol

Here is what I picked up! (Also keep in mind that I had never smelled any of these scents before getting Chandler to purchase them for me so I wasn't satisfied with everything.) I will include the pricing of everything at the end of this post!

P.S. Today when I picked up my items since Chandler brought them to school, a lot of people passed them around and smelled them! lol I will include some stories about what happened and what they thought next to each item. They will be in yellow in case you only want to read that part of this post. lol

Slatkin & Co. (14.5 oz) Vanilla Caramel Candle- "Warm, creamy vanilla blends with rich caramel and hazelnut, with a hint of pumpkin spice." I have been looking for something with pumpkin spice for a while and this smells amazing! David said he smelt most of the candles in the store and said he thought this smelt the best. I'm so scared of setting off a smoke alarm or something when I blow it out though! lol

Bali Mango Shower Gel (10 FL OZ)- "Our tropical Bali Mango is an exotic getaway of juicy mango, sugar cane, pink passionflower and luscious nectarine." Yall, this smells amazing! It is the perfect fruity mix and will be the best scent ever for summertime!! It is almost smells like a fruit punch drink! All of my friends who smelt this approved and thought it smelt really good! This is my first full sized item from Bath & Body Works and I will definitely use all of it! I got this for free with my coupon that says you get a free signature item if you make a purchase of $10 or more!
Secret Wonderland Fragrance Mist (3 FL OZ)- " Master perfumers have blended luscious strawberry and frosted jasmine petals with magical notes of white amber and creamy sandalwood to create this whimsical fragrance inspired by a world you never dreamed existed." Wonderful scent! My guy friend, Andy, after I sprayed this said I smelt like candy! lol To me, this a slightly fruity scent with a hint of honeysuckle! It also has this refreshing/ cooling sort of smell to it. I will definitely be using this a lot! I think it is mainly suited for summer nights instead of the day though. Apparently this is the exact same scent as Moonlight Magic that was discontinued. Today in math class when all of my new goodies were being passed around, my friend, Anne Lanier, decided to spray this on my friend Adam's back! hahaha He was like "Oh my gosh what did you just do! Wow great. Thanks. Now guys are going to be following me around." lol I laughed so hard.

Carried Away Fragrance Mist (3 FL OZ)- "A whimsical blend of lush raspberries, white jasmine and whipped vanilla inspired by the way love sweeps you off your feet." To me, I kid you not, this smells like Sweet Pea and I personally do not like Sweet Pea. I can't really pick out the vanilla notes in this at all. I wish it was sweeter and fruitier but instead it kinda smells old lady-ish to me. My friend Adam said he liked it but my other guy friend Ayman said he did not. So mixed opinions on this one. I will probably not be wearing this one much at all. It is more like a perfume-y scent than a body spray. I am kinda dissapointed by this one.

Moonlight Path Mini Body Butter (1.7 OZ)- "Our exclusive Moonlight Path fragrance is an opulent floral bouquet that captures the essence of moonlit strolls in lush garden." Yuckkkk. This smells sooo bad! It smells like baby powder and laundry detergent. I shouldn't have gotten this at all because it has notes of lavender and I really hate the smell of lavender. This is also really small for the price of $6 (although that is not what I paid for it; total prices will be mentioned at the end of this post). This should last me for a while though because I will probably only use small amounts of it on my elbows. It is pretty easy to cover up the bad smell with another lotion and is pretty moisturizing so that is a plus. It is super thick though and is kinda hard to dig your fingers into it at first. lol My friend, Priya, smelt this and said that this smelt nothing like the other Moonlight Path products but I don't know if I care enough to try them because I am pretty grossed out by this one.

Slatkin & Co. (1.6 OZ) Candle in Caribbean Salsa- "Luscious pineapple nectar and fresh peach blend with Yuzu flower and vanilla." Wonderful citrus scent. This has a strong orange smell but I can smell the hints of peach and mango. The problem with these small candles is that they do not have very good strength when it comes to filling a room with a scent.

Slatkin & Co. (1.6 OZ) Pink Sangria Candle- "A refreshing combination of zesty mandarin, raspberry and fresh blueberry, layered with the sweetness of sugar crystals." This reminds me of the candy sweet tarts. It has that wonderful sweet/ sour mixed smell to it.

Slatkin & Co. (1.6 OZ) Candle in Calypso Sun- "A luscious blend of juicy mandarin, white peach and tropical mango." I was holding this around in pretty much every class. My friends all really liked this one. It is the strongest orange/ citrus scent of the three candles I got. It reminds me of the scent of my Clean & Clear In-Shower Facial Cleanser. This candle has a very sharp orange scent.

When I calculated the total price of the items (excluding the candle because that was a gift) if I didn't get sale deals, it would have come out to $37. I only paid $16! :) The deals I got were 3 1.6OZ candles for $5 and 3 for $10 mini's to go (which were the sprays and body butter.) The Bali Mango Shower Gel came free because of a coupon. :)

If you have done a recent B&BW haul, then please leave me the link because I would  love to see what items you like!

I'm Loving Soap Scrubs!!

I am now returning home after being in Charleston, SC for a weekend! I stayed in the Isle of Palms Wild Dunes Resort and it was so nice! The scenery was amazing and everything was super peaceful and relaxing! The beach house I stayed in had an amazing bath soap that was made with oatmeal to be used as a soap scrub! Using it was like taking a shower with a back scratcher; it felt soooo good. haha I'm not sure where you could get it because it is a hotel brand, but it was called Destination Oatmeal Bath Bar. However, I did find it on this site: http://www.gilchristsoames.com/view_product/1842/537/Destination_Earth_Jet_Settrade%3B_Travel_Pack and it comes in a package with other shower products for $10! Now I am obsessed with finding another soap scrub that will compare to the one from the resort. Here is what I've found so far!

Fabulous Friends Panel: Favorite Bath & Body Works Scent and Item!

Yes it is time for another questionnaire with my fabulous friends panel :) This time I decided to ask my friends what their favorite item from Bath & Body Works was! As you all probably know by now, I am completely obsessed and cannot get enough of this store. Here are some scents or items that you may like to try! They are still having their huge sale so this may be a good time for you to try new stuff! Please please let me know what your favorite scent or item from Bath & Body Works is because I would love to try them out!!!! (P.S. I believe this store is only available to people in the US and Canada.) Here is their website! www.bathandbodyworks.com

#1) Now the number one most mentioned scent from Bath & Body Works was SWEET PEA. It is one of the unique smells from B&BW and has notes of Sweet Pea Petals, Watery Pear, Freesia, Fresh Raspberry, and Soft Musk.
#2) There was a tie for the second place and one of the scents was DARK KISS! I myself also love this scent! :) This has notes of sensual incense, Mirabelle plum, and night musk. My friend also said that she loves it in the body lotion form!
#2) The other scent that tied for second place was of course the ever so famous WARM VANILLA SUGAR. I am a huge fan of this; I spray it on my pillow every night before I go to bed :) This is known by its traces of Vanilla Absolute, Basmati Rice Water, and Creamy Sandalwood.
Honorable Mentions:

(Above from Left to Right)- Japanese Cherry Blossom, Exotic Coconut, Cherry Blossom, and Twisted Peppermint.

(Above from left to right)- Eucalyptus Spearmint, Lavender Chamomile Mist, Pineapple Mango Home Fragrance Oil (for Scentbugs!), and Cucumber Melon.
