Under $50 Gift Guide for a 23 Year Old

Hello everyone! So one of my guy friends texted me a couple of days ago and asked what gifts I recommend for him to get his 23-year old friend! I thought that a lot of people may be lost on this same scenario so I decided to write this post! Here are my suggestions:

Spray of Sunshine Perfume Sampler- $24
I think you can't go wrong with these perfume samplers. Every girl wears perfume so this is a great way for her to find a new one! The best part of this set is that you get a certificate for a FREE full-size rollerball of your favorite perfume from the samples. Perfumes include:
- 0.04oz Chloe Love Story spray
- 0.06oz Elizabeth&James Nirvana White spray
- 0.05 oz Giorgio Armani Si spray
- 0.04oz Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream spray
- 0.06oz Stella McCartney Stella spray
- 0.05oz Tory Burch spray

Meet Your Match Set- $25
This is a lip and nail set that would be perfect for any girl! The colors would go with any skin tone and are also super wearable. Samples include:
- 0.27oz Deborah Lippmann Nail Lacquer in Girls Just Want to Have Fun
- 0.06oz Lipsurgence™ Lip Tint in Elite
- 0.17oz Formula X Nail Color in Invincible
- 0.03oz Hourglass Cosmetics Extreme Sheen High Shine Lip Gloss in Child
- 0.13oz Nails Inc Devonshire Row NailPolish
- 0.05oz Bite Beauty Lush Fruit Lip Gloss in Strangefruit

Brand Name Wristlet- $40
I recently realized that TJ Maxx has a great selection of designer wristlets! I got the Michael Kors one shown on the right in a light pink color. There are also wristlets from Calvin Klein, Betsy Johnson, etc. This gift would made it look like you went all out (money-wise) but secretly you will be spending under $50!

Left&Right Bag: PacSun Rip Curl Paradise Beach Bag- $50
Center: Forever21 ban.do Super Chill Cooler Bag- $33
I feel like every girl needs a good tote bag. I know I use mine all the time for bringing a change of clothes with me. If you get someone one of these colorful totes, I guarantee they would love it!

I hope this post was helpful! Leave your suggestions for a gift you would give a 23 year old!

Erica's Table of 20 Ft. JaneƩ Bolden & Mimi J

Hello everyone! This past weekend I had the privilege of going to "Erica's Table of 20". It was an event that took place at Nieman Marcus and consisted of two featured speakers: Bossip Deputy Editor JaneƩ Bolden and Celebrity Makeup Artist Mimi J. It was such an inspiring afternoon to hear these ladies talk as well as be surrounded by other women who work so hard. My takeaways from the speakers are to work towards what you're passionate about, make your brand unique, and stay consistent with the way you market yourself.

Everyone I met was so genuine and easy to talk to and I was so happy I attended the event! Huge thank you goes to Erica Dias, CEO of The B Firm PR, for inviting me and organizing the lunch! Thank you to the wonderful sponsors of this event as well:

REVIEW: Essie Nail Polish in "Penny Talk" + Keep

Hello everyone! I have always loved metallic colors so I'm excited to review the Essie nail polish in the color "Penny Talk" for you! It is from the Essie Mirror Metallics Nail Polish Collection.

A neutral metallic to me is such a wearable color. In the bottle, the nail polish is a beautiful coppery color but surprisingly in natural light the polish actually looks a little pinkish. This doesn't really bother me as the color is still really pretty- I was just surprised it didn't look copper all the time.

You can find this product at Ulta or other drugstores for around $8.50. I actually purchased mine though through the app called "Keep". I have been obsessed with this app since August and have gotten my friends hooked on it too. It is similar to Pinterest except it's only fashion, makeup, and home goods. You can also access Keep by their website (click here). If you "keep" stuff onto your profile, they'll also e-mail you if the product goes on sale!

Hope you check both of these out!

Emily

"Try" by Colbie Cailat

Hello everyone! Many of you by now have heard the song "Try" by Colbie Cailat but I wanted to share the music video with you today. It has such a great message and I think it is something that females of all ages should watch.

I want to leave you with the reminder that whatever you decide to do or whatever you want to change about yourself, make sure you're doing it because you want to, not because of someone else.

Have a great week beauties!

DIY: Polka Dot Clock!

Do you have any decorations in your room that could really use a little bit of glitter and color? Well that was my wall clock for me. I decided to change it up one night and add some details to the plain white borders around the clock. All I used to add the dots was different nail polish colors! Here's how to decorate your clock:

Things you need: 1 clock, 3 nail polish colors

Sunday Mornings

Sunday mornings are meant to be relaxing right? Well one way I like to start my mornings is by either getting on my computer or reading through some old fashion magazines. My friend had a lot of old Bazaar magazines and the one I chose was from 2010- great way to get some inspiration.

I am also planning to run errands and maybe do a little shopping so I am bringing my Charlotte-Russe sunglasses, silver bracelets (rhinestone one is from Versona), and Kat Von D lipstick in the shade "Stiletto" with me. I hope you all have a fantastic Sunday!

Emily

DIY: Scarf Ladder!

Who here is a scarf fanatic? Well my best friend and I definitely are and we were looking for a cute way to store our scarves! After looking at Pinterest, we decided to build ourselves some scarf ladders! This was actually a relatively cheap project ($13 each) and took us about 2 hours to complete (including the trip to Home Depot).

Here is what you need to build one ladder:
- In Home Depot, get a long (8ft), thin piece of wood and ask the employee to cut it in half.
- Grab another long piece of wood and ask him/her to cut it into 3 pieces that are each 1ft long.
- Pick your paint color! My friend and I chose Glidden's Soft Amethyst.
- A couple sheets of sand paper (we got the medium grain)
- 6 Nails- We got the size 6d x 1-1/2"
- A hammer

DIY Wall Art: Heart of Pictures!

Hello everyone! This weekend, I decided to take a chill night and do some arts and crafts. My main reason for this is because the walls in my room are fairly empty and I needed to put something pretty up on it. I was scanning Pinterest the other day for "room decorations" and this heart of pictures idea came up and I immediately loved it! This was such a cheap project too and cost around $12. Here's what I did:

My New Favorite Fall B&BW Candle!

Hello everyone! Fall is notorious for being the season that Bath & Body Works releases amazing candle scents. I hadn't gotten the chance to stop in one of the stores and smell the new products until this evening!

I have decided that my new favorite candle is the one called "Bourbon Butterscotch". It smells like the perfect mix of butterscotch, caramel/ sugar, and a tiny bit of bourbon. I could just see myself lighting the candle in my room and having it instantly make the space more warm and cozy. I don't know maybe I liked the bourbon candle the most because I was born a Kentucky girl. :)

International Day Video!

Hello! So yesterday, I organized an International Day for my school! It was "dress as your heritage" themed and there was an international buffet, Chinese acrobat performance, fashion show contest, and a video presentation. We raised $230 from the buffet to donate to countries facing natural disasters! This is the video that I showed and personally edited! Please watch it and take into account how many people of different countries come together in times of need or celebration. There is so much that we can learn from each other especially when we come from different cultures. Part of the reason why I love having a blog is because I get to talk to people from all different countries! I hope you enjoy this video and take the time to acknowledge those who are different from you and hopefully learn something from them!

Here are some pictures from International Day!

Here are some of my friends and I dressed as our heritage. lol
