Trend to Try: Mulberry Lips!

In the last month, I've really been loving darker lip colors for the Fall and Winter! Mulberry lips are a recent trend that has been spotted on celebrities and the runway! I would describe Mulberry as being a rich, dark burgundy color. So this holiday season, if red is too bright of a color for you, then go for the deeper, more sophisticated look with Mulberry lips!

Summer Trend to Try: Tribal Prints!!

I have really been looking into trends recently. Now I know that this tribal trend started around last summer but I think it is still in and looks so colorful and unique! The prints add so much texture to any clothing item and are easy to match! I created this collage when I was styling my friend's wardrobe but I definitely wanted to share it with all of you! Let me know what you think! <3 Almost all of the pieces are from Forever 21 or Charlotte-Russe. Happy summer! :)

Trend to Try: Sleek Ponytails

A common trend that I have been in love with for the last few months is a sleek ponytail. As an athletic girl, I used to only think that ponytails were for sportswear but now I see how much they can add to an outfit. Nowadays, whenever I see an outfit that I would love to wear but is a little out of my comfort zone, I always think "Gosh this would be so cute with a high ponytail." And so, I wanted to tell you all that this is definitely a trend worth trying.

Trend To Try: Purple Lipstick!

I have really been into wearing purples lately and was inspired to do this post after I found a Milani lipstick in "Grape-Tini" on sale! Like my friend was telling me, if you have a darker skin tone, then purples will really pop against your skin! This would be a great trend for stepping out of your comfort zone and trying something new. For me personally, I would do this for more of a night time look or for going out! Also take note that with darker lipstick colors such as purple, they are not always true to the color of the tube on your lips. For example, in my pictures below, the lipstick in the tube looks straight up purple, but on my lips it actually looks a bit lighter with a tint of magenta. So make sure to test out or swatch the color before turning down the lipstick!

Trend to Try: Shoe Buckles!!

My friend Chandler was recently trying to persuade me to help her bring back the trend of shoe buckles! I was not convinced at first (especially because every time I googled "shoe buckles" I was given a picture of leprechaun shoes haha) but after seeing her shoes, I thought it was a good idea! Here is what she was wearing that day!

Now these are not very easy to find but my friend said that she got them from her grandmother. So since these are very vintage-y, you can probably find them at a thrift store! Which is a plus because that means it will not be very expensive! The other day I actually saw some being sold at Target and they were actually really cute! The buckles that are in the pictures above are very easy to put on as they are clip-ons. They are gorgeous and have tons of detailing on them! I found this website that sells shoe clips but I do not swear by this company or anything because I have never ordered anything from them. I'm not sponsored by them either but the website is: http://shoeclips.biz/index.aspx. If you are still not convinced about this shoe buckle trend yet then check out the following photos and picture yourself adding this accessory to your wardrobe! It would be very stylish and you would be a trend setter!

And here are some shoes with buckles!

Let me know what you think about this trend and whether or not you will try it!

Trend I Want To Try: Mint Green Nail Polish

I know that the traditional Christmas green is a dark color but a new color I want to try this holiday season is mint green. I think it is such a cute way to add a green into your everyday look! It is a unique color and I feel like it is a relatively new color to wear on your nails. I noticed this color after seeing in Seventeen magazine in one of their past issues. It also makes me think of mint chocolate oreos :) I haven't seen any of the girls my age wearing this color yet and I think it would be a way to stand out. Who knows, it could put you in the holiday mood too!

Fabulous Fact: Egyptians used nail color to signify social order, with shades of dark red at the top. Queen Nefertiti of Egypt colored her nails and toenails ruby red. Women of lower social classes were permitted only pale colors.

Trend to Try: Lace!

A trend that I have definitely noticed at school recently is lace. Whether it is on girls' sweater or their tights, it is surely becoming popular. Lace just adds an attention-grabbing, feminine touch to any outfit. I personally love it because it makes me feel bold and edgy. If you are not yet comfortable with wearing lace pieces, you could start small with things such as lace purses, jewelry, or shoes. Several celebrities are also really liking the lace trend. The celebrities featured in the photos below are Taylor Swift, Taylor Momsen, Dakota Fanning, Ashley Greene, and Lauren Conrad.

Trend to Try: Chunky Jewelry!

Yes sir'ee chunk jewelry is a new trend for this year :) The jewelry in this picture are pieces that I bought from JcPenney. I am in love with them and I get compliments on them all the time. They are accentual to any outfit and just add a pop of color. Here are some other chunky pieces you could buy. I chose to show you ones from Forever 21 because I love all of their accessories!
