Embrace The Pale: Porcelain Look For Winter!

Put aside the bronzer, and bring out the powder!
After going to the gym today, I walked through campus and passed a girl who had the most beautiful fair skin. Her skin looked flawless and almost like porcelain and that is the inspiration for this post!

A lot of girls want to use bronzer in the winter and keep that summer "glow", but I honestly think that if you have fair skin, that leaving it natural and matte is more pretty! A nice touch to add to this look is a pink/rosy blush! This makes you look like you just walked in from the cold!

(Included at the end of the post is a photo of me with "porcelain" makeup!)

Here's the products to achieve this look:

  • A medium/ full coverage foundation: the key to this look is flawless skin. Make sure to get a foundation that will cover any imperfections or discoloration.
                  - Suggestion: Revlon's Colorstay Foundation- lasts all
day and gives an almost matte finish! BB Creams and airbrush
makeup products are great too for this look!
  • Concealer! This is to again make your skin look flawless. Make sure to apply under your eyes too!
                 - Suggestion: MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer
  • Matte/ Translucent Powder!
  • Rosy blush!
  • A volumizing mascara: you don't want your lashes to look spider-y. Instead a volumizing mascara just makes them look very full!
                - Suggestion: Covergirl's Lash Blast
  • If you decide to use eyeliner make it very natural and don't wing it out too far.
Here are a few more pictures of this look!

Lastly, I just wanted to show this picture I got taken in China a couple of years ago where they had done a similar kind of look on me. My friend saw the photo and said I looked like a "porcelain Chinese doll". Haha So I thought I would include it. :) In my opinion, I just really like how a "porcelain" looks makes you look very refreshed and natural!
