REVIEW: The North Face Venure Jacket

Hi everyone! So I am very late on getting on The North Face train but decided that I would try their rain venture jacket! The main reason for this, is because over the summer, my friends and I went to an outdoor event where it started pouring rain. Even though I had a rain jacket on, it did not withhold any of the water and I ended up being soaking wet. Therefore, I needed a new jacket. Haha

The jacket retails for $100 but I got it on sale at an outlet store! You can tell that The North Face puts a lot of time into developing their materials because the fabric is unique and definitely waterproof. I also love the color of this jacket and decided to go for a very bright color because when it rains outside, it's always gloomy and gray.

Fabulous Friends: Fall Favorites

Fall is my favorite season. With the changing leaves, cooler weather, and outdoor activities, how could you not enjoy yourself? In addition to loving Fall, I also love Fall fashion. Therefore, I wanted to know what my friends' favorite fall trends were. Here is what they said:
  • 8 friends said their favorite Fall accessory was scarves
  • 1 friend mentioned how she loves colorful scarves that look good with jeans, boots, and a solid colored shirt
  • 1 friend said she goes for a "good, neutral pashmina" which is an Indian scarf made of fine cashmere wool- she wears it kind of like a shaw and it looks effortlessly pretty!
  • 3 people mentioned their go-to is infinity scarves. 2 people said they love big sweaters because they're cozy and warm (both items are worn by Miley Cyrus on the right)

6 Spring Fashion Necessities!!

Spring time is almost here so it is the perfect time to transition out of the winter trends! I am currently on Spring Break right now so I was daydreaming today about what to include on this post. I designed it to show you fashion pieces, beauty items, and accessories you will need and love for the Spring!

1) Block Dresses
(The ones pictured below are from Forever 21 and costs $13.50.)

Forever 21 $22.80
These are perfect for adding color to your outfits! Usually block dresses come with a two-inch thick strap which is flattering on almost every body shape! Mixing dark colors & brighter ones is easy w/ these dresses & a perfect way to transition out of winter! If you prefer patterns over colors, then you could try a dress like the one to the left! I love the soft colors on this one! Here is a pic of my friend & I w/ our block dresses!

 2) One Shoulder Dress

These just make me think of warmer weather! I love that these bright colors really stand out!  One-shoulder dresses are in this year and come in a variety of shades and patterns! If you are not into solid colored dresses, then you can try one like the picture shown to the right!

The ones shown above costs $19.80 and are from Forever 21.
The one to the right is from Charlotte Russe and costs $29.99.

3) Plaid Skirt

I know that plaid skirts remind some people of school uniforms but I am absolutely loving them! (Especially the ones shown above; They are from Aeropostale and the one on the left costs $30 and the one on the right is $25). I think these would look so nice with just a plain white tank top and a belt. Plaid skirts also look really casual for a lunch out, shopping day, or vacation!

4) Colorful/ Bright Bikini

When it comes time for your Spring Break or trip to the beach, you are going to want something cute to wear around. You can totally mix and match whatever prints and colors you want as well!

(Note: I think bandeau tops as shown in the picture to the left should really only be worn by people with a smaller bust area because they tend to make people with a bigger bust area look saggy.. if that is the right word. lol)

5) Sling/ Over-the-Shoulder Purses

I love these types of bags! They are really convenient and hard to loose since you don't usually just set this down like you would with other types of purses. These would go perfectly with the block dresses and plaid skirts shown above! The sling purse shown to the right is from Dooney and Bourke. I own a similar Dooney and Bourke sling purse but it is in navy and tan and I get tons of compliments on it!

6) Sunglasses
With spring comes a lot of time in the sun! Protect your eyes with a cute pair of shades! The one to the left is featured in my Sunglasses Collection post.  The one on the right costs $5.80 and is from Forever 21. I love both of these styles!

I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know what your Spring Fashion Necessities are! Stay posted for my next post about Spring beauty necessities!

New Haircut and OOTD!!

Ok so to start off this post, I wanted to let you all know that I got a haircut! It was pretty drastic and I got like 6 inches cut off. This is the shortest I have ever had my hair in the last 9 years! For me, my hair was somewhat of a security blanket so sometimes when I get too comfortable with things, I think it is important to have a change. If you are the same way, then try going out of your comfort zone like me! Here is a before and after picture!

                           Before!                                                                                  After!

I was listening to music in the car. haha

Short hair is definitely a new and upcoming trend! A lot of celebrities like the ones below have begun to cut their hair! But please don't get yours cut as short as Emma Watson's (far right) though because I just can't bring myself to like it. Also, I am starting to see short hair a lot at school too!

So here is my promised outfit of the day! My brother along with some other students were in a big academic ceremony which happens every year so the entire school has a "Special Dress Day." For my outfit, I wore a floral dress, a black blazer, short closed toed black heels, and gold hoop earrings. The makeup I wore was the look in my bronze makeup post minus the lips.

I was also wearing the Bath & Body Works Berry Vanilla Body Mist which I got complimented on! :)

Anywho, I hope you enjoyed this post!

Find Your Perfect Spring Floral Dress!

It is almost Spring time again! Now I am not that big of a fan of Spring because it is humid where I live in the Spring and I have a tendency to sweat and all.. but today my friend and I were walking to class and she said "I'm so excited for Spring! Oh sorry.. because I know you're not." And I thought about it for a second, then I replied "No, that's okay. I'm excited to wear dresses again! (lol)" But not just any dress; I am super excited to get more floral dresses this Spring!

Tomorrow is our school's special guest speaker day so we all have a dress up day where the students can't wear jeans or sneakers or stuff like that. It is pretty formal.. so I am planning to wear a floral dress with a black blazer over it and black heels! It is the floral dress that I showed in this haul post. I will include pics from the assembly and an outfit of the day in the my next post.

I thought it would be a perfect time to do this post about floral dresses! As you can tell, I am a big fan of Taylor Swift and I think she just always wears florals so nicely (shown in the pictures at the top of the post)! The following pieces are all affordable and would be great additions to your closet! You will not regret your purchase once the bright sun shines on your beautiful flower-printed dress! :)

These 4 dresses are all from Forever 21. The two white dresses have very suttle floral prints. The fourth dress is very bold and would probably be best for the evening. My favorite of these is the 2nd one because it is to me the most girly one and could be worn in so many different ways! :) Dress 1 and 3: $22.80/ Dress 2: $15.80/ Dress 4: 24.80

These 2 dresses are from dELIA*s. I'm loving the colors on the first one. It also has some cool braiding/ criss cross detailing on the front! The blue dress would be perfect for wearing at the beach! Dress 1: $44.50/ Dress 2: $39.50

These next 8 dresses are from Abercrombie & Fitch. I loveee those first two dresses. Anything with ruffles catches my eye and it also makes a piece look more expensive! Just as a heads up, this store is a bit more pricey. Dress 1&2: $58/ Dress 3&4: $68

Ahhh bows. How wonderfully girly. I love that navy one on the left. These would be perfect anywhere but especially if you are going to attend a spring or summer wedding! All four dresses costs $47.60.

Okay, these first 2 dresses are from Hollister & Co. and the last two are from Abercrombie & Fitch again. lol The first two dresses look almost like they are made out of denim. The criss cross and ruffles add extra detail to this piece! They costs $39.50. I truly love the white dress because it would be super bright and gorgeous in the sun! It costs $40.60 and the last dress costs $58.

Let me know if you are excited for Spring or which dress was your favorite! If you know of an amazing store to find floral dresses, then please let me know!

Muah! <3

Perfect Outfit and Makeup for Valentine's Day

It is that time of year again! Valentine's Day is just around the corner and some of you who are single, like myself, may be asking "Gosh, why do we even have to put up with this day if we aren't dating someone." Well.. when I am single on Valentine's Day, I always take it as a day to appreciate my friends and let them know that I love them for sticking by my side. And hey if you're single, you might just have a secret admirer who musters up the guts to send you a card or gift on this day. Now if you are dating someone then you are pretty lucky because this is your special day!

In this post, I am going to include 3 outfits that would be perfect for wearing to school on Valentine's Day or on a date that night! I hope you all have a blast regardless of your relationship status because holidays are meant to be fun so enjoy it!

Outfits that are simple and comfortable are always a good idea. Adding a colorful little accessory like a headband or necklace is also cute! I think pairing a light pink flower headband would also look amazing for this outfit. If you can find a pink headband like the one in the third outfit below then I think it would be perfect. The sweater is from Abercrombie & Fitch and costs $58, the top is from American Eagle and costs $19.95, and the headband is from Kohl's and costs $12. I really love this white tank top because it has a little detailing in the front and has a bow in the back.

I feel like wearing something with hearts on Valentine's Day is a little cheesy; however, floral prints are a perfect alternative because it makes any outfit pretty and girly. This sweater is the same one as the picture above and the tank top is from Hollister & Co. and costs $29.50.

All of these tops and sweaters would go nicely with skinny jeans and and brown leather boots.
For makeup, I think natural looking makeup with a pink lip would go well for this day. Here are pictures of Julianne Hough to show you what I mean.

Alright and here are some photos to get you in the mood for Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Party/Dance/Cocktail Dresses and My Favorite Dress Styles!

It is almost time for my school's Sadie's Hawkins dance so I thought this would be a good time for this post! It is basically like homecoming except the girls ask the guys. I unfortunately will not be able to go this year because I will be out of town again lol Anywho, here are some ideas for dresses in case you are going to a dance or a special occasion soon! These are all dresses I have worn in the past 3 years and I have tried to remember where I got each one lol. My friends that are in the pictures with me all have dresses that are worth admiring! At the end of this post, I will show pictures of my current favorite dress styles!

(Photos above) I got this purple dress from my favorite store Ross! I'm not sure if you can get it there anymore but I know Dillards has the same dress in red for around $80. The first picture is of my best friend, Sara, and me before we met up with the rest of the group for homecoming! I loved her dress and all the white detailing was fabric that came out of the dress! It was gorgeous! The second picture is a close up of my jewelry and sort of my makeup. haha

This is an aqua halter dress that I wore to a dance during a summer camp. It had tons of glitter on it- like I literally would leave a trail of glitter everywhere I walked. haha This dress was definitely eye-catching and I received tons of compliments when I wore it! It is from Macy's!

Above is a  picture of my friends and me at homecoming. My dress is a low-cut halter with a rose in the middle. The photo to the right is from formal night on a cruise! My friend's dress is from Urban Outfitters.

With any dress, it is important to have a cute matching clutch or bag! Here are a few that I have used in the past but are currently sitting on a shelf in my closet lol The black looking one in the front is the wristlet I use the most because it has tons of different colored reflexes on the sequins (you probably can't see it because of the camera) like purple, green, & blue!

Here are some of my favorite dresses and styles for parties or dances! All are from Nordstrom's except the first one on the bottom row (that is from Dillard's).

They all cost under $70 except for the first dress which is by Maxx Azria so it is priced at $438. haha Not something I would personally buy but I like the look of it! I also really love the asymmetrical black dress on the first row because it is a bit more edgy and unique.

My favorite style of all time for a dress is the one shoulder design! I think it is so elegant and gorgeous! I have yet to get one of these but hopefully I will soon! Ones that have beading, sequins, or even flowers going across the shoulder look amazing.

Wow this post was super long! lol

I would love to hear your comments and let me know what your favorite dress style is for dances or parties!

Haul From The Mall! (Plus a gum review! lol)

So recently my mom went to the mall and brought me back some goodies!
The socks in the picture below are from the girls section of a department store but they look really cute! haha I also got some leg warmers which I am super excited about because I have never owned any before! The ones with the hearts are my favorite!!
The sweater pictured below is about hip length and I love how it is a little bit of the military style without being a forest green or black color. The buttons are also really unique and I don't own anything like it!
This is a sweater from the brand St. John's Bay. It actually fits really well and isn't too loose like a lot of other sweaters I have. I love how this isn't the usual flower pattern but instead is a smudged looking flower print. I wore this sweater to school today!
