Trip to M.A.C.!!

Alright so I finally got to go to the MAC counter! Here are the two things that I got! I am literally obsessed with them! I kept putting the products on, taking them off, and then putting them on again! lol Like literally my eyes got so irritated that they started to swell a little. haha

I got the Bare Study Paint Pot for $16.50 &Honey Lust Eyeshadow (Lustre) for $14.50. It is really hard for me to describe Honey Lust because it seems like it's a million neutral colors put together! My picture below doesn't do the eyeshadow much justice because my picture makes it look like a plain beige color. But actually in the pot, it looks like a mix of amber, gold, & beige. However, on the eye, I would say it comes off as a neutral color with a tint of amber. Bare Study is the perfect base for any color. It is a champagne-y, pink color that has some tints of white. One thing I would say about these products though is that the eyeshadows are a lot smaller than I imagined! Nonetheless, I still love my purchase. :)

Haul from the Mall & TJ Maxx!

With so many pre-graduation events and with college fast approaching, it was time for me to go to the mall and get ready for it all. Here are some great items that I picked out!

This dress if from TJ Maxx. I am having trouble deciding whether or not I want to keep it.. What do you think? Should I return it? I might wear it for our Headmaster's brunch event. Idk I can't make up my mind on whether or not to keep it! lol I like that it is unique though and is not the usual floral print.

COMPARISON: Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets VS. E.l.f. Shine Eraser Sheets

So I have always been someone with oily skin and it really bothers me when my face looks greasy. Here are two products that I have tried in order to battle my oiliness.  The one on the left is Clean & Clear's Oil Absorbing Sheets and this can be purchased at any drugstore. The price of it ranges from $5-6. The E.l.f. Shine Eraser Sheets can be purchased on their website or at Target for $1. Here are my thoughts on both!

HELP: Planning a MAC purchase!

So I have saved the money that I worked for this month and I am planning to make a MAC purchase this week! Here are a few items that I am thinking about buying. As of right now though, I am not looking for a foundation, powder, concealer, dark brown eyeshadow, or nail polish so keep that in mind! Let me know if you recommend something else or have tried one of the products I mention! Also keep in mind that I have really tan skin so I will need products that will show up so for example, a light colored blush will not work on me at all. (For a reference, I am the shade Toast 370 for Revlon Colorstay Foundation.) I need to hear opinions and suggestions right now! lol I will definitely do a haul post once I get all the stuff! :)

I am going to include some questions by each product. Please answer them if you can! That would be great help!

Fix +
$19
Does this make your face look oily? Would this be make me look greasy since I already have oily skin? Also, does it work with setting your makeup?

NULL: Coupon for $5 off Physicians Formula's Products!

SORRY THIS COUPON IS NO LONGER ABLE TO BE USED. PHYSICIANS FORMULA HAS REVOKED IT.

So I heard from another blogger about this great coupon and went out today and got two amazing products from Physicians Formula! The brand has such high quality products that I couldn't pass up this opportunity. The coupon works at any store which sells Physicians Formula. For me, that was my CVS. Now on certain products, if you use a CVS card then you get $6 off. That plus the coupon allows you to get $11 off one product!! How sick is that! Here is the link to the coupon: http://www.raininghotcoupons.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/eyebooster-coupon-3-1.pdf. It expires 6/15/2011.

Here are the two things that I got!

Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow for Hazel Eyes
Retail Price: $11.95
What I paid: $7.95
Thoughts: The packaging of this product is amazing!! That is the first thing I noticed; that the packaging is super sturdy and thick enough to not break for a long time! The individual eyeshadows are all pretty frosty/ shimmery but this palette will create a great natural look! My favorite eyeshadows are the #4 and #8 color! I'm excited to use this in a lot of upcoming days! It will be perfect for traveling as I will be going to China in 11 days!!

Project 7 Pan!

So since I am going to college in a few months, I decided that it is time to clear our a few makeup products. If you don't know what Project Pan is then you can look it up on Youtube because I don't want to take the time to explain it since it does take a bit of time to explain. I know Project Pan is typically done with 10 items but since my makeup collection is not that large there are only a few products that I want to get rid of. Some of my products in this project are already almost used/ dried up so that's why I'm working on finishing them. The end goal for me is to entirely finish these products not just to hit the pan. I will not be repurchasing any of these items except maybe the e.l.f. Essentials Hypershine Gloss and the Estee Lauder Blush in Nude Rose. Okay, here are the products!

E.L.F. Products First Impressions and Review

Here is my E.L.F. Haul First Impressions and Review! Sorry it seems like I'm posting tons of stuff with E.L.F. products on them but I guess its just been my excitement of the month! I got tons of stuff but only ended up spending $17! I will rate each product on a scale of 1 to 5 stars with 5 being the best. I will try to keep things brief but let me know if you want a full review of anything!

Tools Shine Eraser- $1
2 Stars
This works okay but not amazingly well or anything. It actually does work over your makeup; it actually tends to take off my concealer which is frustrating.. I am planning to do a post comparing this to Clean and Clear's Oil Absorbing Sheets!

Essentials False Lashes- $1
2 stars
Considering the fact that I don't own tweezers, it is extremely hard to get these eyelashes to stay on. I'm still working on how to get these perfect because I bet you could really get an awake, almost cat-eye look with these! Oh, also one thing, everyone says that the glue they get with the eyelashes is always dry but mine actually wasn't dry at all! However, it is pretty sticky.
Essentials Foundation Brush- $1
I can't really give this a star rating because I haven't used it yet.. I actually haven't worn foundation for basically this entire month. However, I will say that this brush is very soft and feels like it would work well!

Essentials Eyelid Primer- $1
I have a friend who absolutely swears by this. She says she could go swimming with this on and her eyeshadow wouldn't come off. I haven't truly tested the lasting power of my eyeshadow with this on yet but I will say that it feels really oily! Also, this oxidizes a lot and actually leaves a champagne color on your lid so you have to be careful to not spread this everywhere because if you don't cover it with your eyeshadow then you will have two different colors on your eyelid. lol

Essentials Brightening Eye Color in Drama- $1
5 stars
You could do the perfect smokey eye look with this palette! The black is super black and stays on well! The dark silver is gorgeous though!!! There are different color glitter sparkles in it! The dark silver is the main reason that I'm keeping this palette! Also the light silver is great too because it is a pure light silver and has no tones of blue in it like my other silver shadows.. I find the blue tone in my other shadows to be really annoying so I'm glad this one doesn't have it! There is also a little mirro
r on the bottom of the palette under the shadows!

Essentials Lipstick in Seductive- $1
5 stars
I really like this lipstick! It has a really good scent and the color is really nice and vibrant! Seductive is actually kind of a hot pink/ berry color. This lipstick is pretty matte which is good for a bright color. The stain power is good too and last a long time! This color is a little bold for me so that's good because I need to branch out a little bit for lipsticks. lol

Essentials Hypershine Lip Gloss in Blossom- $1
5 stars
Ah I love this lip gloss!! It gives that perfect baby pink color but is not super sticky! The application is easy too and I don't have to use a mirror to apply it. The only thing that I don't like though is that you have to pump out a lot of gloss to get enough to cover your entire lips. It also does not last very long and I have to remind myself to reapply it every 30-60 minutes. But overall it smells good, looks pretty, and is a perfect everyday gloss for me!

Essentials Super Glossy Lip Shine in Malt Shake- $1
5 stars
I was surprised by this because it is very pigmented! It also last a long time because it is very sticky. It applies very smoothly though and looks really pretty on! I will say thought that his picture is from there website and doesn't really reflect the real color of the lipgloss. The actual one is more of a brownish, red color but I think it is gorgeous! I will definitely be using it a lot in the winter! All of the Super Glossy Lip Shines are scented Grape Vanilla which is not bothersome to me.
Essentials Zit Zapper- $1
1 star
This does absolutely nothing. Sorry but it really didn't help me with my breakouts at all. Save your dollar for something else!
Studio Complete Coverage Concealer Palette- $3
4 stars
This is probably my favorite thing in the entire haul! I really like this concealer because of the variety of colors! I tan really easily so my skin changes color all the time! This is totally a money saver because I don't have to go out and buy like 2 different concealers. They are very creamy but go on very smoothly. Their stain power is average but I do have to reapply this sometimes during the day. I feel like this palette works better when its been dried out a bit.. I left mine in my car on accident while the sun was out and at first it melted a bit but when it dried up I felt like it worked a bit better. I wish I had realized that a concealer brush came with it though. The little brush is perfect for covering up blemishes because it is very dense.. but it is very tiny.  Oh, also I don't recommend this palette for covering up under eye circles because it will cause your eyeliner on your bottom water line to smear (which I hate!) The packaging of the palette though is amazing and so smooth/sleek! I love holding it and it is actually fairly large!

Studio Concealer Brush- $3
4 stars
The Studio Concealer Brush though works very well for under eye circles and anywhere on the face. It is pretty dense but I just wish it was a little more flexible. It is very soft though so that's a plus. :)

Studio Blush in Candid Coral- $3
2 Stars
This hardly shows any color on my skin at all! It makes me really sad because it looks like a gorgeous color but is just too light for my skin! I think this would work really well with people that have fair skin but I am super tan/ dark. However, this does have a lovely iridescent gold shimmer to it so I think I will place this over my NYC Blushable Creme Stick in Pink Flash which is pictured to the right. The creme stick is really intense so this e.l.f. blush will really help to tone it down. I think this
will make a perfect look for summer!

So again, if you want a full review/ swatches of any of the products let me know! :) Also, if you haven't already, enter my Rue 21 Coupon and LA Eyeshadow Palette giveaway! The rules are in my previous post! Have a great weekend!

Small Old Navy and Rue 21 Haul + RUE 21 COUPON AND LA COLORS EYESHADOW GIVEAWAY CONTEST!!

I'm not really sure how it happened, but my best friend and I ended up going to Old Navy and Rue 21 two days in a row.. haha (as pictured above). I ended up picking up 6 items all for under $25! Please note: in this post I will include the prices that I paid for each item; however, at your store it still may be sold at retail price. Really both of these stores have amazing prices!! Buying winter clothes during the hot months will save you a lot of money! Rue 21 also always has tons of racks that are $3-4 dollars and 50% off racks! Also note that Rue 21 sizes run a little small. For example, in Forever21 stores, I wear a medium but in Rue 21, I wear a large. lol Stay tuned for the coupon giveaway!!

Do It Yourself : Braided Sweetheart Dress!!

So now that my two hardest classes are finished, I decided it was times to get back to my arts and crafts. :) Since I am heading off to college in the fall, I started thinking about how a lot of college girls wear very simple, cute dresses. Since I didn't want to go spend a lot of money on one, I decided to make one! All I used was an old night gown and an old white t-shirt! I cut the sleeves off the night gown and braided the straps with strips of the old t-shirt. Since the neckline was too long, I just tied the front in a knot and it ended up making a sweetheart neckline! This dress also has a cross in the back. Overall, it took me 3 hours to make this dress but I think this piece will be perfect for summer!

How cute is this?!?! Forever 21 Pinch Free Travel Eyelash Curler + NOTW!!

I saw this on Forever 21's website and flipped out! I am really curious as to how this product works because I have not tested or bought it yet! This would be perfect though for a purse because it folds up nicely! I also wonder how well it works at curling your lashes.. but hey this cute thing is only $1.80 and it comes with an extra replacement pad! There is a rhinestone decoration on this product and the curler comes in either pink or black. Let me know if you have tried this and how well it worked for you!

Here is my nail of the week! I used the L.A. Colors Nail Lacquer in Nectar and it only cost $1! (It is shown in the picture on the left. The picture is from the blog imperfectlypainted.blogspot.com.) I love this color because it has gold reflexes in it and is perfect for summer! The fourth nail has a fake nail on it from a set that I got from China. It basically has a giant pearl in the middle of it! :) [Sorry if the photo quality is a little off.. I was using the camera on my phone.]

REVIEW: Burt's Bees Products!!

So since my friend gave me a kit of Burt's Bee's products for my birthday (click here to check out my entire birthday haul!) and since this was my first time trying this company, I thought it would be helpful to do a review of what I got! I was more than ecstatic to receive this present because I have pretty rough hands with calluses and stuff because that's what comes with being a tennis player. lol The gift I received had mini sizes of all of these items but I will mention the size and price of the full-sized product.

Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Creme (2 oz jar- $9.00)
This is very very sticky. It does not feel like a lotion or creme at all. I don't really like the smell of this either.. it kind of smells like bark on a tree. lol But I guess it does help my hands feel a little smoother. I would recommend putting this on at night when you're going to sleep because I think you wouldn't be able to get anything done if you put this on during the day. haha

Beeswax & Banana Hand Creme (2 oz jar- $9.00)

This one is very similar to the Almond Milk Creme but I use it way more and love the smell of it! It smells just like bananas! :) The ingredients in this and the Almond Milk Creme are 100% natural! This again is very sticky so I wear this before going to bed. I've actually almost hit pan on this!

Naturally Nourishing Milk & Honey Body Lotion (8 fl oz- $10.00)

I really love this product! It's a little bit relaxing because it is made of milk and honey so it feels like you are soaking yourself in cream. lol It is pretty fast absorbing and leaves your skin feeling smooth! If you get this product, make sure you shake it A LOT otherwise it will be super liquidy and runny! The ingredients in this are also 98.2% natural!

Baby Bee Nourishing Lotion (6 oz- $7.99)
I honestly haven't really tried this one out yet because I just can't get myself to like the smell.. so I can't say much about this product. lol I would say though that this also needs to be shaken A LOT before using because otherwise it will be super liquidy and runny! But it is 99% natural so that's good! lol

Hand Salve (3 oz- $9.00)
I got this in the mini size but when I was at my friend's house (Jon, who was the one who gave me the gift set!), I saw the full sized product and it is really big!! Anyways, this product is not really creamy but rather you have to dig you fingers into it. I personally like it a lot and it is known as Burt's Bees "most intense hand treatment". It definitely made my hands feel smoother.

Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream (.60 oz Jar- $6.00)
This has about the same consistency as the Hand Salve except this is a little more stiff. When I use this, I just rub my finger across the top and then apply it to my cuticles. This works pretty well and does make my cuticles feel smoother. It has pretty good lasting power and lingers a while on your fingers. I don't get much of a lemon scent out of this but it is still pleasant. This product is also 100% natural!

Shea Butter Hand Repair Cream (3.18 oz- $13.00)
This product didn't do to much for me.. I applied it at night and then would but the Beeswax & Banana Hand Creme on my calluses but I don't this Repair Cream made my hands all that smoother. It does smell like Shea Butter which in my opinion is not that strong but is an okay scent. It has a little bit of a thicker texture than a typical lotion. This product also needs to be shaken a lot before you use it because the thicker parts tend to separate from the liquid! This cream is also 100% natural!

Coconut Foot Creme (4.34 oz- $9.00)
OMG I love this product! It smells good and feels really good! I put this on before I go to sleep and it is recommended that you wear cotton socks over it (trust me you want to do this otherwise you will get it all over your floor). This product isn't fast absorbing though.. sometimes I can still feel it on my feet when I wake up in the morning. I love the scent of this creme too! This is probably the product that is most true smelling of its scent.. it smells like straight up coconut! This product is also 99.4% natural! I have already recommended this to some people and I will probably end up buying the full size of this product!

Well there you go! I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know if you have tried any of the the products that I mentioned or if you have any recommendations!! <3
